Casio 991ES: Security tricks

Casio 991ES has a built-in security tricks. With this method you can check if you got an original Casio 991ES calculator, you can also boss your friends with this knowledge. It may sound silly, but I was surprised seeing the large number of people who do not know it. So I am going to share it with you.


If you have a Casio 991ES, turn it on. Then press Shift+7+On, you will see whole screen goes black, again press shift, screen will become white now, continue pressing. Next operations will be similar as Casio 991Ms calculator, you can see it here, Casio 991MS security tricks to find ingenuity  in my blog. Actually the operations are self-explanatory, you just need to keep pressing different buttons until you get the finishing message.

Casio 991MS calculator: my experience and security test for genuine calculator

Today I am going to write my experience about my calculator, casio 991MS. I'm using this calculator for about 4 years, so i know the handy features. I am going to share it along with a test for original version.

How to ensure it is original:

Here is how you check the genuinity of your Casio 991MS calculator.

Press shift+7+ON button simultaneously,be sure you do not press one at a time or lost hold of any of the three buttons. If the calculator is original the screen will be changed, all pixel of the screen will go dark. Then press SHIFT button, the screen will be completely white, press it again and you will see broken characters, press Shift again and again broken characters appear. press it once more and you will see a number(in my case it is 25, but it may vary) with a OK text, pressing SHIFT again will show all 1 in display, pressing again will show all 2 and in this way it will show upto all 9. Then pressing it one more time will produce a 0 on screen, then pressing it will show a 1. Now press ALPHA, it will show 2, pressing MODE will show 3, pressing COPY left will show 4, COPY up will show 5, COPY right will show 6, CALC will show 7, integration button will show 8, LOGIC button and CONST button will show 9 and 10 respectively. Now press COPY down, it will show you 11. Pressing the buttons of next row will show later digits, continue pressing until you reach the "=" button. At this point you will see a OK text as you seen after broken characters.

One important point to remember, this security test has already been hacked and used in imitated calculators, but still we got one point in favor, drag your fingers overs the buttons from the second row to the last instead of pressing them one by one, if the test is still active, then you got the right calculator. At least it is original.

এপ্লিকেশন সাবমিট করে চলে আসুন। দিন দুয়েকের ভেতর হাইকমিশন থেকে ইমেইল করে মেডিকেল করতে বলবে, সাথে যদি ওরা আর কোন ডকুমেন্ট লাগে সেটাও জানাবে। মেডিকেল এর জন্য যে পিডিএফ ফাইল পাঠিয়েছে সেটা প্রিন্ট করুন, ওখানে একটা লিঙ্ক আছে সেখানে যেয়ে হ্যাপ আইডি আর অন্যান্য ইনফরমেশন দিয়ে লগিন করুন এবং প্রয়োজনীয় ইনফরমেশন দিয়ে সাবমিট করুন। একটা রেফারেল লেটার আসবে, সেটা প্রিন্ট করুন। এই কাজটা সকল এপ্লিকেন্ট এর জন্য একবার করে রিপিট করুন।

২। ফিল আপ করুন। আগে চেক করুন আপনার এসেসমেন্ট লেভেল কি অথবা আপনি স্ট্রিমলাইন্ড ভিসার জন্য এলিজিবল কিনা। সে অনুযায়ী চেকলিস্ট নামান http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/574.aspx আর http://www.vfs-au.com.bd/student.html  থেকে।

Tips for interview with professors over Skype

Here's how you can prepare for a telephone/Skype interview.

1) Prepare to speak "about yourself" for a minute or so. Talk about your academic activities after college (i.e., from the university and above).

2) Mention any significant or notable achievement. For example, top student in class, any medals, any publication, conference attendance, etc.

3) Mention something about your past and current research activities. Leave an impression that you are research-minded and you would like to continue research in area "A" or whatever is appropriate.

4) Do mention that you have interest in a particular area or areas and give a specific example of a research topic that falls under the professor's research field. Avoid being too pushy. Do not only say "I am very interested to work with you"-type statement. If you say so, say why you are interested immediately.

How to write email to a professor

This post is a collection of tips and articles (mostly written by professors). In search of my quest to find a graduate supervisor, I adopted different policy and tried several method of knocking professors. Sometimes they responded, but most of them ignored me. It made me search on the web what I am doing wrong in writing the mails. The goal for this is to find a proper way of writing formal email to which professors will reply positively. I tried to collect different tips and accumulate them here so that I never lost them again. I believe it will benefit me, as well as readers of this post, to get opportunity to work under dream professor.

Charles kenny, an author of businessweek.com, recently writes an article giving his reason for buying clothes and other low cost manufacturing goods from Bangladesh. The question arises recently due to building collapse in Savar, Dhaka which takes away nearly 500 lives. A big buidling called Rana Plaza, which homes 5 garments and a lot of shops, collapsed recently with nearly 4000 man inside it. Afterwards crticism towards the original buyers see a steep increase. In response to these incident and criticism, some western buyers declare not to buy gods from Bangladesh.

Shohag premium - not actually scania vehicle

Shohag bus service in Bangladesh has recently launched its premium service, in place of former volvo service, shohag premium. They claim to use scania vehicles in this service. However, its a blatant lie.
Scania bus has been first introduced in Bangladesh by green line bus service. Their scania service is truly remarkable. With three sits in a row, they provide only 27 sits. Their sits are vrry comforr and body of bus is truly elegant. They actually defined the scania standard and craze in Bangladesh.
Impressed by the polish outlook, I fancied to avail shohag premium service recently. However, I was extremely disappointed. At first look I realized this is not the same scania bus as provided by green line. After examining the bus for less than five minutes, I realized the body of bus is not as good as it first seems. my assumption, from the paint, look of surface and sound of sits while the bus moves, is the body is made in Bangladesh. The sits in the first three row is probably taken from old volvo vehicles. Rest of the sits feels same as normal non - ac bus and does not meet the expected quality of scania service.
I do not complain about the body being made in our country, I rather inspire it. My complain is about their excessive charge in the name of scania. I do not like it.
So before you ride shohag premium, please remember you will not get same service as green line scania even though you are probably paying almost same.

Bangladesh tops the natural climate danger ranking list

In a recent news published in nature disaster blog, scientists publishes a danger map. In this danger map they showed the natural climate related danger exposed to different countries. Red depicts extreme risk and green depicts low risk associated with a country. Here is the map taken from the article

You can see Dhaka, Bangladesh tops the list, which means Bangladesh is the most vulnerable place to live due to threat of sudden natural calamities. Beside, Bangladesh has a bad law and order situation with very corrupted police force and health professional.

However, I noticed something on the map. The low end of the map is particularly risky in comparison to the upper part of the world. Most of the time this low part of the map is also the lowest income area of the world. Do you think the high income end of the world is saving their back in this case by doing something fishy, both in long term or short term?

You know what, Microsoft is trying to convince me IE 8 provides better malware protection than Google Chrome. LOL too much. I found this today, on msn. 

Don't look at the nice duck, look at the red box at the top. Can you believe IE is better at  protecting you than chrome? I can't.
